Model of the famous waterwheels of Hama in Syria, in the gardens on the National Museum of Damascus.
In the photo, see the diesel pump on the right used to spin the wheel to move water to make the model look more real. I don't know if this, or the fact that it wasn't working at all and there wasn't any water is most indicative of the era we live in.
