Now, you are technically required to put the trademark symbol and attribute the word to the Dervaes family if you use it even casually in anything you write online.  They have trademarked other words as well with the excuse of preventing corporations from doing the same- makes sense, but it's BS to require everybody to cite the Dervaes whenever the term "urban homestead" as well as several other words are used.  It seems they are making people stop using the trademarked terms, getting Facebook to erase pages that use the terms, etc.  The Dervaes have taken down their own Facebook page and another page has been started by people who oppose what the Dervaes have done:
