The Escola da Natureza is the environmental project of the Piracanga ecovillage and the Inkiri comunity located is the south of Bahia - Brasil

Project Description

Piracanga is an ecovillage located in the south state of Bahia in Brazil. We are an environmental spiritual community that aim to create the conditions for an more heltier, fair ,complete ,connected ,fulfilled way of living. The Escola da Natureza is the project with aim to do the same but, thought the nature, and for that we create few projects: - ORGANIC MATERIA. That take care of composting all that it can ,including kitchen scraps, toilet paper and humanure ( we have 6 different tiles of dry toilet's being used here) Production of micro organisms and bio fertilizers - WATER. Which takes care of all water treatment sistems including gray and black water. All the water is treated by us there is no conventional or central water treatment sistem. AGROFORESTRY. That is working build a sustenable forests for this and the next generations. RESIDUES. That is our recycling project. We manage to reduce at 60% of all garbage that we send out of here LABORATORY. With the exception of the ‘Member’ who has never taken a PDC, all of the above can apply to become a PRI PDC Teacher. PRI PDC Teachers are those who the PRI recognise, through a vetting board, as determined and competent to teach the full 72-hour course as developed by Permaculture founder Bill Mollison – covering all the topics of The Designers’ Manual as well as possible (i.e. not cherry picking only aspects the teacher feels most interested or competent in). Such teachers also commit to focussing on the design science, and not including subjective spiritual/metaphysical elements. The reason these items are not included in the PDC curriculum is because they are “belief” based. Permaculture Design education concerns itself with teaching good design based on strategies and techniques which are scientifically provable.

PRI PDC Teachers may be given teaching and/or consultancy offerings as they become available as the network grows.
