Project Summary

MUXBEARE ORCHARD is a 4-acre mixed site of pasture and orchard with and existing small single storey built barn. The agricultural barn has clay tiles roof; this has now been restored.

Project Description

?????EAPP - worked with Dinah and Stig Mason in visioning of there dreams and aspirations of how they and family wanted to live a more low impact life style not just for themselves but also their children.

Muxbeare Orchard is a sustainable organic small holding which comprises organic bees, chickens, and will have sheep and a large kitchen garden, medicinal and culinary herbs selling latter and surplus in the local community with intention of making organic cider and organic nature apple juice.

When Dinah and Stig took over the land it had not been managed for over fifty years this valuable tradtional orchard with wildlife was threathened.

The dream: To live a sustainble lifestyle, whereby able to feed self and family.

Give back to local community and surrounding communities.

To give our children the knowledge of living within seasons growing local orgainc food.

The enterprise, our dream, has enabled use to provide for our family needs, with the ability to look after our children as full-time parents and part-time workers, opposing  the norm of full-time workers and part-time parents.

To live a tradtional lifestyle in small holding, working with orchard, growing organic food and living a low impact tradtionally built house constructed from natural materials from the surrounding countryside.

Legend of Badges

Note: The various badges displayed in people profiles are largely honesty-based self-proclamations by the individuals themselves. There are reporting functions users can use if they know of blatant misrepresentation (for both people and projects). Legitimacy, competency and reputation for all people and projects can be evidenced and/or developed through their providing regular updates on permaculture work they’re involved in, before/after photographs, etc. A spirit of objective nurturing of both people and projects through knowledge/encouragement/inspiration/resource sharing is the aim of the Worldwide Permaculture Network.

PRI Teacher

With the exception of the ‘Member’ who has never taken a PDC, all of the above can apply to become a PRI PDC Teacher. PRI PDC Teachers are those who the PRI recognise, through a vetting board, as determined and competent to teach the full 72-hour course as developed by Permaculture founder Bill Mollison – covering all the topics of The Designers’ Manual as well as possible (i.e. not cherry picking only aspects the teacher feels most interested or competent in). Such teachers also commit to focussing on the design science, and not including subjective spiritual/metaphysical elements. The reason these items are not included in the PDC curriculum is because they are “belief” based. Permaculture Design education concerns itself with teaching good design based on strategies and techniques which are scientifically provable.

PRI PDC Teachers may be given teaching and/or consultancy offerings as they become available as the network grows.
