Qualifications: BSc Honours Development Studies, MSc Sustainable Architecture. I first encountered Permaculture and did a PDC during a year's break from my undergraduate studies. It was the missing piece for me and I have focused on Permaculture ever since. I wrote my thesis on integrated agroforestry and aquaculture systems in the Redpal permaculture project in Peruvian Amazon, and worked there for several months.
I have also trained and worked as a solar hot water system installer, a straw bale builder. I have been involved in teaching 2 PDC courses and worked on PC projects in the UK, Spain, Portugal and Peru.
I now work as a consultant "Permaculture Coordinator" for Lush cosmetics, a UK based ethical company. I connect them with permaculture, agroecology and ecovillage projects, mobilising funding and support from Lush and also developing fair trade links and direct marketing opportunities for projects to supply raw materials directly to Lush.
I am currently coordinating 2 pilot projects of a new model of ethical business directly supporting and investing in permaculture training centres in Peru and Ghana. My intention is to develop a social business opportunities for upscaling permaculture projects and training, with business profits re-invested back into earth care and people care.
I also continue to teach and am involved with teaching the ecology week of the GEN Ecovillage Design Education Week.
