About Brandon Neil

Brandon graduated from Maharishi University of Management (MUM) in 2011. He completed his degree with a BS in Sustainable Living and a Minor in Health and Physiology. During his degree, he completed:

-1 month PDC w/ Scott Pittman & Doug Crouch (2009)

-6 month Grow Biointensive Internship w/ John Jeavons (2010)

-6 month CSA Program (2008) w/ MUM Faculty.

He also started a backyard Permaculture and Grow Biointensive garden at his home (2007).

Brandon's interest in Permaculture began in his second year of college. He took a one month Grow Biointensive Agriculture and his paradigm instantly shifted. The next thing he knew he was taking whatever he learned right to his own yard. He has been exploring the Permaculture toolbox ever since.

Brandon is currently looking to join forces with other permaculturists and mini farmers. He is looking for land and a team to establish a Permaculture & Grow Biointensive Soil/Test Training Center.

His long term vision is to develop a Permaculture homestead - meets - botanical garden. The idea being that it would demonstrate a wide variety of Permaculture systems:

-Fukuoka No Till
-Grow Biointensive
-Agro/Food Forestry
-Aquaculture
-Natural Building
-Off Grid (no lines in - no lines out)
-Animal husbandry

Every method would be showcased for what it is.

In his exploration of sustainable ag systems, Brandon has seen much judgment cast about different methods without a fair trial. Brandon would rather the evaluation of different methods be research based - what works and what doesn't? Why? Where? How?

It would be great to harmoniously interplant all of the beneficial methods in our minds. In light of the current and future challenges, it is important to grow diversity. Not only in landscapes, but in the methods we use to do so.
