We began 6 years ago a new permacultural project in Lot countryside in southwest of France, the great region of Quercy. 3,5 hectares of Causses landscape.
To start with, we had to renovate the small old farm and we live in since 2017 .
Then we began to plant a wide variety of regional traditional fruit trees and small fruit trees mixed with aromatics. The karst ecosystem required attention to the choice of plants species. We added olive trees accompanied by vines.
The next step was to create a vegetable garden integrated into existing plantation to push biodiversity, exchanges and interactions between plants, soil and natural environment.
We are working on recuperation of rainwater and an irrigation distribution system taking into account the very porous calcareous soil and seasonal precipitations. We built a greenhouse to have a longer production season and for our early seeding.
So we are mainly working to create a fertile organic soil able to retain the water during hot periods with an optimum resilience.

We are strongly involved in the team for the local project "The House of Nature" being developed by the association "Le Jardin Bourian". This eco building will be a pedagogic center dedicated for children environment education, conferencies, workshops about alternative way of life, cooking classes "from the garden to the plate", big events... The House of nature, 500m2 ubicated in the center of 1 hectare land, will complete Jardin Bourian offer of natural gardening and agrobiologic experimentations.

Our new company PERCAMINO is dedicated to permaculture applied to local authorities and businesses.
