About Tristan Black

While studying natural medicine in 2004, I realised the importance of being able to grow and/or collect one's own food and herbal medicines. The idea of growing my own medicinal herbs is actually what sparked my interest in farming. Soon thereafter, I also became very interested in "bush foods" (foods that were used by Aboriginal Australians).
Taking a course in Feng Shui later that year got me thinking about design and landscape. I soon decided that Permaculture must be like the ultimate Feng Shui! I studied further - doing a PDC, Cert II horticulture, and short courses in biodynamics and regenerative agriculture.
I am currently available for local gardening work and am interested in all things Permaculture. I would like to set up my own farm and botanic garden.
