About Holger Hieronimi

Holger is an ecologist, small farmer, writer, educator and designer of ecological systems; His career spans more than 30 years collaborating with projects and initiatives related to socio-ecological regeneration, in search for lifestyles beyond consumers society - in his native Germany, in Spain (1990 - ´92) and Mexico, where he lives since 1993.

After some inicial practical experience in organic agriculture, he first heard about permaculture in 1990, and took an introductory course with Emilia Hazelip, being co-founder of an ecovillage in the mountains of Spain.
In 1993, he moved to Mexico. After two further introductory courses, he took his PCD with australian educator Skye in April/ March 1996. PC Diploma in 1999.
Further studies includes courses and workshops with Alejandra Caballero, David Holmgren, Darren Doherty, Jairo Restrepo, Sebastiao Piñeiro, Eugenio Gras, and many more-

In 1997 he started facilitating educational events, for groups from 3 up to 1500 participants: Conferences, workshops, courses and seminars on eco-social regeneration, permaculture, bioregionalism, and related topics, mostly in Latin America- so far, he worked as a facilitator in Argentina, Colombia, Spain, Guatemala, Mexico, and Uruguay (see http://tierramor.org/cursos/docu%20cursos.htm for documentation up to 2015).

He also frequently works as a consultant, sometimes for private clients, often collaborating in multidisciplinary design teams to establish regenerative systems at different scales (see documentation of some projects, until 2015: http://tierramor.org/proyectos/proyectos.htm).

He lives in a town on the shores of Lake Patzcuaro, in Michoacán, Mexico, where he develops and maintains, together with his life partner Marina Ortiz, and the children Ian, Merlin and Ilan, a small rural property (http://tierramor.org/proyectos-procesos/granja-tierramor/).
