About Victor A. Soto-Leiva

Environment and Natural Resources Engineer, with experience in governmental, private, educational and socio-environmental development entities. Trained in Environmental Impact Declarations and Assessments (DIA - EIA), Cleaner Production, Integrated Management Systems ISO 9001 - ISO 14001 - OHSAS 18001, baselines, Environmental Qualification Resolution, Natural Resources and Solid Waste Management Plans, modeling and geographic information systems (GIS), Natural Farming, Permaculture, Natural Building. Professional with high capabilities of analysis, enterprising, result orientation, work team guidance, planning and organization.

Since I went to college to study Natural Resources and Environment Engineering, I was always looking for models or developing systems that impact the environment positively and do not create pollution, that was how suddenly I found Natural Farming, Natural Building and Permaculture, among other topics.

I have had the opportunity to learn and work with Panayiotis Manikis Director of the Natural Farming Center and Mieko Yajima of the Network of Fukuoka Natural Farm. On the other hand I have learned and worked in Natural Building with the Architect Gernot Minke and the natural builder Jorge Belanko.

To me, Natural Farming, Natural Building and Permaculture, among other trends, talk to us about living in a simple way, using what we have on earth and in the locality, to build healthy human settlements.

My latest and current projects, in which I have been involved and I want to develop are:

• Establishment of Natural farms, Natural Constructions, Food Forests and Vegetable Gardens.
• Seeding for the revegetation
• Practical classes on Natural Farming, Natural Building and Permaculture

A month ago, with all the knowledge and experience gained, I founded a company in Chile, the name is Reverdeciendo: Centro de Agricultura y Construcción Natural www.reverdeciendo.org (Greening: Natural Farming and Building Center). I direct the small company with social and environmental purposes. The aim is to empower people and build projects on: "how to produce healthy food, how to build with natural materials, such as, greening sectors that have been disturbed”. This company makes projects and workshops on: "Natural Farming. Natural Building. Earth Building. Permaculture, Bioarchitecture. Organic Agriculture. Green walls and facades, and vertical gardens. Green Roofs. Reciprocal Frames, Self Supporting and Hogan Roofs. Efficient Use of Wood: stoves, water heaters and ovens”.

Also I collaborate with the Natural Farming Center in Greece (www.naturalfarming.eu) and the Network of Fukuoka Natural Farm in Japan.

I travel around the world doing this.
