Food Forest: March 16th, 2013 (1:00pm - 3:30pm)
A Food Forest is a self-supporting ecosystem designed to produce the needs of humans while also the needs of nature and the general environment. Here at Eden Grove we have developed a special system for starting food forests that is great for the Texas and semi-arid South-West region. These forests are perfect for backyards or even large fields. In the Food Forest Workshop participants learn how to start a food forest with hands on design and planting. Also included are analysis of existing forest plantings at Eden Grove, lecture on the principals of food forests, and food forest dos and don’ts.
