Project: Rancho Delicioso

Posted by Geoff McCabe over 7 years ago

A great chance to come and learn about Tropical Permaculture and Yoga in Costa Rica.

Rancho Delicioso Permaculture & Yoga Course

7 Day Permaculture & Yoga Course in Eco Village Rancho Delicioso in Costa Rica

Both Permaculture and Yoga are about achieving a dynamic balance. Come to Costa Rica to learn about both during a seven day course organised on and by eco village and permaculture center Rancho Delicioso.

Comment on previous course: "Throughout the course, I felt a balance of body and soul. It's great to have a place to work on yourself, with positive energy and a family feel. I truly realized how everything is connected."

Our week-long course includes the following:
*7 Days / 6 Nights at Rancho Delicioso;
*3 Meals per day that showcase healthy fresh cooking from the farm or local providers;
*Introduction to Permaculture – Daily Workshops;
*Aerial Silk Class;
*Archery Class;
*Beach Trip To Playa Hermosa (Surfing Lessons Optional);
*Montezuma Waterfalls Excursion;
*Anamaya Yoga Excursion;
*Pool Party and Salsa Lessons.

Introduction to Permaculture Daily Workshops:
*Understanding the principles of Permaculture;
*Observing microclimates and learning to listen to your intuition;
*Mimicking nature to create a sustainable garden design;
*Learning the important first stages of gardening. Seeding, transplanting, creating raised bed lasagna, mulching, as well as how to polyculture the plants;
*Creation of a mandala garden with plants and flowers;
*Investigating medicinal plants, and those that can aid survival and homesteading.

Legend of Badges

Note: The various badges displayed in people profiles are largely honesty-based self-proclamations by the individuals themselves. There are reporting functions users can use if they know of blatant misrepresentation (for both people and projects). Legitimacy, competency and reputation for all people and projects can be evidenced and/or developed through their providing regular updates on permaculture work they’re involved in, before/after photographs, etc. A spirit of objective nurturing of both people and projects through knowledge/encouragement/inspiration/resource sharing is the aim of the Worldwide Permaculture Network.

PRI Teacher

With the exception of the ‘Member’ who has never taken a PDC, all of the above can apply to become a PRI PDC Teacher. PRI PDC Teachers are those who the PRI recognise, through a vetting board, as determined and competent to teach the full 72-hour course as developed by Permaculture founder Bill Mollison – covering all the topics of The Designers’ Manual as well as possible (i.e. not cherry picking only aspects the teacher feels most interested or competent in). Such teachers also commit to focussing on the design science, and not including subjective spiritual/metaphysical elements. The reason these items are not included in the PDC curriculum is because they are “belief” based. Permaculture Design education concerns itself with teaching good design based on strategies and techniques which are scientifically provable.

PRI PDC Teachers may be given teaching and/or consultancy offerings as they become available as the network grows.
